Snow Day!

Yes it is snowing here - lots of ice accumulation and some snow accumulation.

We had to cancel the ortho and chiropractor appointments and reschedule because of the ice.  We live 45 minutes away and have to cross several bridges to get there, so we stayed home.  I still required home school, but it was tough because Dad is here (not MY problem!) LOL.

We took a break to watch the snow though - it is a rare thing here in Houston, though I think we will probably get a little more where we are now.  It seems we are 5 - 10 degrees cooler than Houston on a typical basis.

  1. Sorry, but living in a snowbelt, I couldn't help but laugh looking at your video. We had another 6 inches dumped on us and it was "just another day" and business as usual. Lol

    1. I know! I crack up when someone says they are burning up in a heatwave at 85 degrees. 9 months over 95 makes 85 seem like a beautiful spring day!

The snow is not much, but it ices all the bridges and there are a TON of bridges here. This state does not salt for ice since it is not a problem usually. It is really unusual for us to even get to freezing, so there are wrecks all over the city. Even our driveway has a thin layer of ice on it right now.

    2. It snowed here, too. But, ice is the problem here, too. Tonight will be 5 degrees F. I am so cold!

  2. Yes, a very rare event for Houston indeed. It's the ice that is so bad, not the snow. I'm with you on the summer heat. Anything below 95 is not hot!
